I am sad to announce that Ted Lammert of Feather Craft as passed away. Ted has been a staple in the St. Louis Fly Fishing Community for decades by running one of the finniest Fly fishing shops around. Whenever I stepped through his door I was greeted with a smile or a recent story of fishing or an outing with his grand kids. . Feather Craft under the guide of Ted always provided great service and helped introduce Fly Fishing to many new generations. Feather Craft also brought us customer appreciation days where customers could get discounts on fly fishing gear. Thanks to Ted every Fly fisher has a place to call home.
Ted Lammert, Frederic Leland Thompson Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Ted was the beloved husband of Anna Sis for six years; loving step-father of Caleb (Lesley), Mike, Sara (Steve) and Amy; dear brother of Dick (Maitland), Bartow (Brian), Martin (Karen) and Pollie (Mike); and his five grandchildren – Averie, Lilah, Cynthia, Ethan and Steven. Ted’s life adventure began in Saint Louis on March 17, 1964. He was the son of Martin Lammert IV and Alice Cornelia Thompson Lammert. Ted worked for many years at The Lammert Furniture Company and in recent years for a fly fishing company. . His priority was his wife, Sis, and his family. Ted loved to travel, fish, hunt, cook gourmet meals, entertain and recently was trying to train his two unruly black Labrador puppies (The Girls). All will remember him as a fun loving, generous man; a great hugger who often had a trick up his sleeve. More importantly, he was one you could always depend on. He loved life and encouraged all around him to do the same.
Wooly Bugger you are so right. Ted’s passing is a shock to us all here in the St.Louis area. Ted was battling some sickness for a while but when you asked him how he was doing he was always upbeat and said he was feeling better each day. Ted helped our fellowship with many special things like discounts and appreciation days. Whenever I would go to Feather Craft Fly Shop Ted would greet me at the door and we would talk for 15 -20 minutes before I would even start to look around for what I came in for. If it wasn’t on the shelves Ted would always go in the back and pull whatever it was I needed out of their catalog order bins. He will be truly missed by me and all of our guys at The Flyfishers at The Crossing.
